Misbehavin’
| |
Misbehavin’
began as a concept band in 2001. Bassist Ron
Zastaury approached guitar player Chris Dansdill
with the idea to form a band that played rock
songs in a swing style. Moving forward with
the idea, they recruited the other members of
the band. Pretty soon the band moved into covering
jazz standards, adding many classics from the
30s, 40s, and 50s in the style of Rosemary Clooney,
Sarah Vaughn, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra and Tony
Bennett. Misbehavin’s favorites also include
swinging arrangements of tunes from the Beatles,
Van Morrison and other pop/rock artists. Misbehavin’
has created a musical style all their own as
part of the Tucson live music scene. Their unique
swing approach delights audience members at
any function or event.

Symphonic Winds |

 |
The
Arizona Symphonic Winds,
under the direction of Laszlo
Veres, is Southern Arizona’s
premiere community concert
band. Comprised of about 65
volunteer members, this musical
organization presents concerts
in the Tucson and Southern
Arizona areas and has been
doing so for more than 21 years.
Included in its repertoire are Broadway show
tunes, orchestral transcriptions, opera, movie
themes, marches, and traditional band literature. |
The
Winds perform an average of 16 concerts yearly,
including the outdoor series at Udall Park,
a winter/spring indoor series at Rincon University
High School, and performances in the outlying
communities of Saddle Brooke, Oro Valley and
Green Valley. The band frequently showcases
both professional and amateur soloists as well
as talented young performers at its concerts
and continues the American tradition of free
concerts in the park for the community. |
