Mike
Banks – Las Campanas – San Miguel
My
wife and I moved to the Green Valley
area in 2003 and live here year round.
We are active tennis and pickleball
players, bowlers, birders, cribbage
players and Clay Studio members. I have
an MBA in Finance and Marketing, and
have been involved in the financial
sectors of Information Technology for
42 years.
I
volunteered in the Finance Department
of the Town of Sahuarita for more than
two years, and in 2006 was named Chairman
of the Finance and Investment Advisory
Committee for the Town. I was Treasurer
of a Homeowner Association in San Diego
for 5 years, and was a Board Member
of a Tennis Club for 3 years.
During
my career in management and consulting,
I successfully managed many small and
large projects and organizations. I
am a good listener, and will use my
analytical strengths and problem-solving
skills to assure that GVR remains well-run
and cost-effective, and is responsive
to the residents of Green Valley.

Bob
Barry – Canoa Ranch – Canoa Terrace
My
wife, Mary and I moved into our house
in Canoa Terrace last year. We came
to Green Valley from Colorado where
I was active in coaching youth sports
and playing senior basketball and softball.
I've continued my quest for softball
mediocrity with the BAJAs. We've taken
advantage of the excellent GVR facilities
and cultural activities and are looking
forward to helping keep GVR a strong,
responsive organization.
I've
had two careers. During my 25 years
as a Navy Officer I've led and managed
people under a variety of circumstances.
I learned how to listen and rely on
good people and teams to accomplish
goals. My second career was as program
manager at Ball Aerospace. I participated
in several successful space programs.
I
am interested in seeing GVR flourish
and am ready to devote time and energy
to accomplish that goal.

Al
Crawford – Canoa Vistas II
After
visiting Green Valley several times
since 1989, my wife Charlotte and I
purchased a home and moved here upon
our retirement in 2001. Green Valley
Recreation and the opportunities it
presents was a big factor in our decision
to retire here.
I am a Kansas native and a former professor
of Computer Science, having retired
from Illinois College. Since coming
to Green Valley I have been active in
my hobby of photography. I am a past
president of the Camera Club and have
been teaching digital photography in
the Camera Club (and early on in the
Computer Club). My wife is very active
in the Lapidary club where she is the
past co-chairman of their Decembers
Fair. She is currently the lead instructor
of the wire-wrap classes. She also teaches
GVR classes on personal finance.
It is my desire to see that GVR continues
to serve the people of Green Valley.
GVR is very important to the physical
and mental health of its members.

A
full-time resident, my wife, Nila and
I moved to Green Valley twelve years
ago. A graduate of UCLA School of Business
Administration, with forty years in
corporate real estate development where
I served on the Board of Directors of
two public held corporations. Served
as the first President of the San Ignacio
Ridge Estates Inc. Homeowners Association
for three years. Accomplishments included
establishment of a reserve fund for
future repair of existing improvements,
a reduction in the annual dues, a termite
maintenance program and general enhancement
of the common areas. Served on the Board
of Directors, Desert Hills Golf Club
where I directed a program to expand
clubhouse facilities within an established
budget. During seven years on the GVR
Board served as President, Vice President,
Treasurer and Chair of Fiscal Affairs,
Planning & Evaluation and Developer
Committees. I am also Treasurer of both
the GV Community Foundation and the
Coordinating Council. I am very much
concerned with the future of GVR, its

and maintaining a strong fiscal policy
within established guidelines to meet
member’s needs. |

Joe
Roth – Santa Rita Springs – De
Anza Links I
My
wife Bonnie and I moved to Green Valley
in the summer of ’05 and are full
time residents. Green Valley, Tucson
and all of southeast Arizona are very
appealing to us.
GVR
is an incredible community asset and
deserves the attention of all Green
Valley residents. Since most residents
must join, we must do everything we
can to protect the public’s interest
in this amazing organization.
With
nearly 40 years of business experience
at a senior level with large and small
companies, I have become a problem-solver
and agent for positive change. I work
with disadvantaged Pima County youth
as a CASA, have been involved with
Big Brothers for 14 years, and have
served as Director and President on
several Fire Boards in California.
I am enjoying serving on the Planning
& Evaluation and Bylaws Committees
and would be pleased to serve you
on the GVR Board.

Linda
Sparks – San Ignacio Vistas II
After
graduating from Gettysburg College,
I went to work for the Department of
Defense. During my 25 years with DOD,
I was trained in small group dynamics,
conflict management, and the differing
management styles of men and women.
After retirement, I moved to Colorado
where I served my community as an EMT,
First Responder, Firefighter, and as
President, Vice President, and board
member of our Citizens Association.
In July 2007 my hubby, Jim Baker, and
I moved to Green Valley. I’ve wasted
no time in leaping into the activities
that drew us here. You can find me at
Swimnastics, the Clay Studio, Garden
Club, Tucson Audubon, Green Valley birders,
and a Newcomers group. I’m also exploring
starting up a GVR Club focused on fitness
and flexibility and am an active AKC
approved dog show judge.
I would like to help keep GVR strong
and responsive to its members.
