Balance & Core Calisthenics with Shaun McGuire
The core is your body’s foundation for movement. This class will focus on exercises to improve your balance and function. Improved balance and core strength will improve your daily function, reduce the risk of injury, and enhance your overall health. No class Dec 25.

Boxing For Fitness with Lizetta Smith

Kettle Bell Zone with Sharon Ryan

Movement and Muscles for Maximum Mobility with Mickie McCollister
This is small group personal training for women that will focus on strength training using dumbbells, barbells, bands, benches, and bodyweight. This class will utilize the principles of progressive resistance to build muscular endurance, strength, and power. Group perquisites include the ability to transition safely to and from the floor, a readiness to engage in self-challenge, and medical clearance to participate in exercises involving light, medium, and heavy lifting. 1. 30-minute personal training consultation with a GVR personal trainer is offered to those who wish to have a personalized fitness program designed with goals and any medical needs in mind.
2. 30-minute Introductory to Resistance Band Training is training with bands and a great way to stay active and strong. Learn how to utilize resistance bands to strengthen functional movement patterns of daily life. We will show you how to train push, pull, press, squat, hinge, and lunge movement patterns that are convenient, versatile, and joint-friendly. Benefits include improved strength, balance, endurance, coordination, mobility, core stability, and flexibility.OCt
Free Movement Assessment
GVR trainers are ready to help you. Movement assessments identify muscle imbalances around the joint, focusing on both overactive and underactive muscles. Trainers take a systematic approach, evaluating the body, for neutral alignment, symmetry, balanced muscle tone, and any postural imbalances. Areas of focus include the feet and ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, head, and cervical spine.

Beating Osteopenia/Osteoporosis with Nutrition and Exercise
This one-on-one training combines targeted exercises and expert nutritional guidance to help participants strengthen bones, improve mobility, and enhance overall health, all while managing or preventing osteoporosis/osteopenia.

John specializes in senior fitness, tailoring workouts to all levels and goals. He offers low-impact sessions for balance and strength, and high-impact training for equipment use and muscle building. His goal is to help you stay strong, healthy, and confident.
Jeanie Cooper
With 25 years of nursing experience, Jeanie blends medical knowledge with care. She specializes in recovery and exercise for joint replacements, osteoporosis, cancer, and heart conditions, helping clients regain strength and mobility.
Roberto Braga
Roberto is a personal trainer with over 11 years of experience and a background as a high-performance athlete. He specializes in creating customized training programs that fit each client’s unique needs and goals. With a passion for fitness and bodybuilding, Roberto is committed to helping clients overcome challenges and achieve their best through expert, personalized guidance. Suzanne Polzin
Suzanne has a wealth of expertise with over 30 years of experience in group fitness and personal training, including working in sports rehabilitation clinics and providing specialized training for stroke and brain-injured clients. Suzanne is a natural motivator who inspires and challenges clients to reach their full potential.
Jaymon Cervantes
With years of experience and a background in college baseball, Jaymon brings his expertise in strength training and confidence building to every client. A graduate in corporate fitness, Jaymon is equally dedicated in the gym and on the field, coaching high school baseball in Tucson. Jaymons enthusiasm and expertise will liberate you with each fitness routine.
Sharon Ryan
Sharon is an ISSA-certified trainer with a strong athletic background and over 20 years in social services. She leads fitness and boxing classes, including for those with Parkinson’s, and helps GVR members reach their goals with practical, personalized support.
Micki McCollister
Micki is a NASM-certified Personal Trainer, Senior Fitness Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Nutrition Coach. A former RN with 25+ years in cardiac and stroke care, she blends medical insight with a passion for functional fitness. Micki empowers her clients, especially older adults, to stay mobile, strong, and confident through every stage of life.
Allan Carter
Allan is a dedicated expert in functional fitness, exercise therapy, senior fitness, and nutrition, with a proven track record of helping clients aged 55 and over overcome disabilities and injuries. His passion for empowering the senior community to achieve health and wellness goals shines through in every session. With Allan’s support, you’ll not only regain strength and mobility but also discover a new zest for life.
Daniela Cawthorn
Daniela brings over 20 years of experience in training and teaching a diverse range of fitness classes, including functional fitness, yoga, Pilates, and strength training. Her contagious passion and enthusiasm for health and fitness make every session inspiring and uplifting. Regardless of one-on-one training or small groups, Daniela is committed to creating a supportive environment for your fitness journey.
Dr. Paul Davis
Dr. Davis brings over 45 years of experience as a sports-focused chiropractor and personal trainer. He specializes in educating and training older adults in proper body mechanics and building functional strength. His advanced training and strong interest in senior athletes, particularly golfers, make him uniquely equipped to help them stay active, healthy, and performing at their best.
Shaun McGuire
Shaun, a certified trainer and chiropractor, focuses on functional movement to enhance balance, strength, and range of motion. With expertise in nutrition, he’s committed to helping students achieve health and fitness goals.

Resistance Band Small Group Training
Resistance band training is a low impact, safe, and efficient way to build strength, improve flexibility and support balance without weights. The class is oriented toward seniors who have recently done little or no regular exercise. Small group training will allow each person to get individual attention. Wear loose clothes, sneakers, and bring water. All equipment will be provided. Please come 20 minutes early for the first class.
