Natalie Whitman

Chief Operations Officer
NatalieW@gvrec.org
(520) 838-0153

Natalie hails from the northwest corner of Washington State where she worked in social services and conservation and roamed between the Cascade crest and the Salish Sea. Her work philosophy was developed on the farm as a kid: get to the barn on time, expect anything and nothing, sweat and laugh in equal measure, and watch your buddy’s back (the family had a pugnacious ram.) Nat has held a variety of positions at GVR. As COO she oversees Recreation Services, Field Services, and the Facilities Department. She has 30 years of experience in team and organizational management with deep dives into program start-up, strategic planning, policy and procedure development, communications and PR, community outreach, accreditation and regulation compliance. A GVR member, Nat lives in Green Valley which she find ideally suited for her favorite past time: tromping around the region as an armchair naturalist.

David Webster

CFO, Chief Financial Officer
DavidW@gvrec.org
(520) 449-8776

David started working at GVR in 2018 after moving to Tucson from Kentucky. As a basketball fan, he has adopted the Arizona Wildcats, but his true loyalty still lies with the other Wildcats at the University of Kentucky. David has been keeping books for 40 years. He spent 25 years as the CFO of a very successful engineering firm in Lexington, Kentucky. Fortunately for David, he is still married to his high school sweetheart and has a daughter that is horse crazy in Kentucky, and a son attending law school in Philadelphia.  When you hear someone at a GVR Board meeting or Fiscal Affairs Committee with a Southern accent, it’s probably him. David has been playing saxophone semi-professionally longer than he has been an accountant and has played with acts like The Temptations, Four Tops, and Percy Sledge.

Christopher McNeely

Human Resources Director
ChristopherM@gvrec.org
(520) 838-0155

Chris joins GVR with over fifteen years in Human Resources Management for the recreation, tourism, and hospitality industries. After writing his graduate thesis on customer and employee experience in recreation and service, he spent time running a summer camp and retreat center in Vancouver, BC, and a ski resort in the French Alps. For many years Chris led the people operations work for a premier resort and youth camp in Northern Minnesota and volunteered as an accreditation visitor, local professional development, and conference chair for the American Camp Association (ACA). Most recently, Chris served as Human Resources Director for the largest public school district in Arizona where he was an active member of the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AAPSA).

Originally from London, England, Chris now calls Sahuarita home. Chris is a proud husband, father, dog-dad, and when time permits, keen traveler, hiker, skier, and likes to golf.

Kris Zubicki

Member Services Director
KrisZ@gvrec.org
(520) 838-0148

Kris is originally from New Jersey but moved to Arizona in 1994. She worked for 19 years in Training and Development, creating training curricula for Customer Service Representatives and managing a team of Instructional Designers in the US, Canada, Costa Rica, and India.

Kris joined the GVR family in 2015 as a Customer Service Representative, then worked as GVR’s Senior Supervisor for Classes & Tours before she was promoted to her most recent position of Director of Recreation Services. In her new role as Member Services Director, Kris will oversee and manage Membership staff and Customer Service Representatives who deliver exceptional customer service to GVR members. GVR’s Membership Department is the first contact new members have with GVR, and she will help ensure each is a positive and welcoming experience.

Sahuarita is home to Kris, her daughter, husband, and their two dogs.

Randy Cheatham

Information Technology Director
randyc@gvrec.org
(520) 838-0159

Randy Cheatham is from Alabama where he studied music and worked as a touring musician until moving to Arizona in 2000. He has worked in all areas of IT for over 20 years and has been with GVR since 2012. Randy is a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), a Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) and holds multiple CompTIA certifications. He continues to study at Pima Community College. Members encounter the IT team’s work when they call the centers, visit the website, join a Zoom meeting, or watch GVR meetings and events on YouTube.

Randy is the proud father of one son and still works as a part time musician in the Tucson area.

Steve Kindred

Recreation Services Director
stevek@gvrec.org
(520) 838-0148

A 6th generation native of Clatsop County, Oregon, Steve wandered through a stint in the Coast Guard, philosophy studies in college, 30 years managing multiple departments on the business side of a large metropolitan daily, eight years as a county elections manager, and four years writing the most sophomoric alternate history fiction to ever sell a few copies before joining GVR in 2021 where he’s filled a number of roles. Now, professionally home, he looks forward to being at GVR when his grandchildren retire, can join him and his wife Julie in Green Valley, become GVR members, and he can spoil them once again. Steve believes there’s always something new we can try, always something more we can do, and always something important we can learn from GVR members.
